Formed only last February, the four-man Emo Trap collective, Soultary has released their debut release, “Ayusen” under Bandido Rekords, the new hip-hop label of Widescope Entertainment.
Hailing from different parts of the Philippines including Quezon City, Marikina and Bulacan, the boys of Soultary namely Mirikle, Keyaru, L Frost, and Liens were brought together by a strong desire to make their own music.
With “Ayusen,” Soultary has created an anthemic ditty about how to handle a breakup. Punctuated by a propulsive backbeat, the new song “effortlessly narrates the highs and lows of wanting an explanation, searching for a way to fix things, and slowly but surely understanding what happens when two people decide to call things quits.”
Sentimental yet upbeat, “Ayusen” is what happens when a once happy couple decides to split up, only to later reflect on the breakup and wonder what they could have done to fix or save the relationship. With lyrics like, “Ayaw mong pilitin, pwede bang ayusin? Kahit ikaw ang mali, handa akong suyuin…”Ayusen” can be considered as “a modern rendition of a classic story” that happens all too often in real life.
The new single is co-produced in collaboration with emo trap enthusiast Chan Beatz and Bandido Rekords’ A&R Executive Paulo Perez a.k.a King Promdi of VVS Collective frame. King Promdi, in particular, has been very instrumental and influential in helping develop Soultary’s signature Emo Trap sound.
In addition to their original material, the group is also known for experimenting with popular OPM tracks and embellishing them with distinctive trap beats.
Soultary’s “Ayusen” is just the first of many exciting releases from Bandido Rekords. Widescope Entertainment has created the label to firm up its commitment in pushing the beats and ideals of hip-hop music and its related sub-genres.
Now available in major streaming platforms, “Ayusen” is already included on Spotify’s Fresh Finds Philippines playlist. To stream and download: https://orcd.co/ayusen.
